With talech Gift you have the option to order physical gift cards to sell in your store. The cards are customizable, making it easy to put your brand into the hands of your customers.  

There are two parts to the process of ordering physical gift cards before you can begin selling them in store. First you must order them. Second, once ordered and received, you must contact talech Support to help you upload them into your system. This article will show you how to complete this process.

Order physical cards 

talech partners with Plastic Printers to supply physical Gift cards. You can customize the design of the cards and add your own logo. You also have the option of magnetic stripe with 2D code or bar code for the gift card encoding.

Note: If ordering from Europe, there may be an additional wait time for shipping.

Upload physical cards to your store

When Plastic Printers completes your order, they’ll send an Excel file to talech Support so that we can upload your gift card inventory for you. Wait for an email from talech Support confirming the upload of your gift cards.  

Once the email confirmation is received, you can begin selling them in store! 

 

Note: If you already have cards from another printer and want to import them for use within your talech point-of-sale, please reach out to support@talech.com and we'd be happy to assist you. The gift card numbers must have a minimum of 16-digits in order to import.

Sell gift cards in your store 

  1. In order to sell the gift cards in your store, make sure you have set up your gift card product in Register. For help with setting up a gift card product, refer to this article: How to Set Up Gift Cards from talech Register or talech.com. 
  2. Once your gift card product is set up, add the Gift Card from your menu to an open order and process the transaction.  
  3. After payment, activate the gift card via one of the following ways depending on what equipment you have:  
  • Scan with the camera on your point-of-sale device 
  • Use a barcode scanner 
  • Swipe it through your card reader 
  • Manually enter the number.  

 

Note: On the talech Register point-of-sale device, swipe is not currently available as an option.
