If you have an online store, your customers can use their gift cards to purchase your goods online. This article will show you the checkout experience of your customer using a gift card.
To give your customers the ability to do this, you need to have online ordering and the Gift Card features enabled. See the article How to Set Up Digital Gift Cards for more information.
- Your customer adds their chosen items to the cart as normal and then selects Cart > Checkout.

- During the checkout there is an option to enter a gift card number in the section below the tips. The customer inputs the numbers associated with the gift card then selects Apply.
- The amount applied to the order from the gift card appears where the gift card number was entered. If there is a balance remaining, it appears under the amount applied to the order.
- If there was enough credit on the gift card to cover the order, the customer selects Place Order.
- If there wasn’t enough credit on the gift card to cover the order, the customer adds additional payment details and selects Place Order.
