Quick start troubleshooting

General recommendations

  • All point-of-sale hardware should be connected to its own network served from a dedicated router behind your ISP’s gateway.
  • The Lane 3000 should not be connected directly to your ISP-provided modem or gateway. These devices have a built-in router that is not designed for point-of-sale use and will typically result in failure to communicate with the reader properly.

Network troubleshooting

Try any one of these to resolve network issues.

iPad

If using an iPad:

  • Make sure both devices (Lane 3000 and your point of sale device) are on the same network. The ethernet cable for the Lane 3000 should be connected to the same router that your point of sale device is connected to (either via Wi-Fi or ethernet cable).
  • Disconnect the Lane 3000 Ethernet cable from the router and plug it back in.
