Key emails to watch for

After account creation, check your inbox for:

  • Welcome email: Includes your Merchant ID and information about talech.
  • Credentials email: Contains your login details and access to the talech Help Site.
  • PCI compliance email: Guidance from our compliance partner (depending on your account).
  • Go-live email: Sent when you being accepting payments. Features links to helpful resources such as PaymentsInsider and PaymentStart

Self-serve vs assisted onboarding

There are two available onboarding paths. Please refer to the section that applies to your account:

Assisted onboarding: Required for starter, standard, and premium users. A dedicated Onboarding Specialist will guide you through your setup via a series of scheduled calls.

Self-serve onboarding: Ideal for mobile or free-tier users. You’ll receive hardware and setup guides to activate at your convenience.

Assisted Onboarding

We require assisted onboarding for our starter, standard and premium accounts to ensure a smooth setup and position you for success.

Onboarding steps

Each step includes a call with your dedicated onboarding specialist to help get you ready and answer your questions.

Step 1: Pre-setup

Receive your welcome emails, schedule a 30-minute welcome call and run a network speed test.

Step 2: Setup

Schedule a 90-minute call to set up your hardware and optimize software to meet your business needs.

Step 3: Get ready to go live

Schedule a call to ensure you have everything you need to go live and start taking payments.

Step 4: Post go live support

A final call to ensure business is running smoothly.

Onboarding widget

During your onboarding journey, the Home page of talech.com features an onboarding widget that provides key details about your assisted onboarding process with action items for each step.

  1. Use your initial login credentials from the welcome email to sign in to talech.com.
  2. On the Home page you’ll see the onboarding widget. Use this widget to view contact information for your Onboarding Specialist, key dates, your Merchant ID (MID) and take action on various steps in the onboarding journey.

Installation support

Need additional help setting up your hardware? We offer on-site installation services through our trusted partner, Ovation. Either request this option during your onboarding or contact your sales representative or customer account manager after onboarding.

Post Go Live Services (PGLS)

Available to assisted onboarding, PGLS provides additional training, information on upgrades, help with seasonal changes, and feature setup. Email onboarding@talech.com for more information.

Self-serve onboarding

Self-Serve onboarding is the only option available with talech Mobile and talech Terminal.

Step 1: Setup password and PIN

Use your initial login credentials to sign into talech.com or the talech app to setup your new password and PIN for subsequent logins.

Step 2: Choose your business settings

Set your business hours, contact info, report preferences and other settings specific to your business operations.

Step 3: Create products/items

Create products/items/services for your menu/catalog, any applicable taxes, discounts, service charges or other related features.

Step 4: Review tax settings

Review the taxes set up for your products/items/services to make sure the amounts are accurate.

Step 5: Set up low inventory alerts

For products/items, turn on inventory tracking and set up low inventory alerts to stay on top of your inventory needs. 

Sign in, password and PIN

  1. After account creation, you will receive your welcome email with the subject line Welcome to talech: Get Started Here! containing your initial login credentials.
  2. Use your initial login credentials from the welcome email to sign in to talech.com, talech Mobile or talech Terminal.
  3. Follow the prompts to set up your new password and PIN.

 

Note: Self-Serve onboarding does not include setup or install assistance and does not include menu assistance.
