These guides cover talech Register and related POS equipment. Paytura is your merchant services partner; talech provides the register software and device support referenced in these articles.

If you have signed up to use talech Mobile, this guide will help to get you set up.

    Important! talech Mobile is designed to be used on mobile devices. While it is possible to download talech Mobile onto an iPad or Android tablet and pair a card reader to process payments, it is not optimized for tablets. Using talech Mobile on a tablet is only supported in portrait mode and may not function as well as if using it on a mobile device.

     
    Note: To use talech Mobile, you must be on the minimum required OS for Android or iOS. Refer to talech Minimum App Requirements for the specific version for your device.

    How to download the app

    You can download the talech Mobile app via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Search for “talech Mobile” and select the app to download. The links to download are also available in your welcome email.


    Log in with temporary password

    Once the app is installed, you can log in using the credentials provided in your welcome email. If you haven’t received your welcome email, don’t panic, it’s on its way. Check your spam folder in case it didn’t make it into your inbox.

    To log into the app, enter your credentials into the login fields on your device.

    Important! If you are using an Android device, you must accept all device permission requests that appear upon opening the app and logging in or the app won’t function properly. You may see more or less than the examples below depending on your device.

    Set up new password and PIN 

    If this is your first time logging in, you will be prompted to set a secure password and 6-digit pin. If you prefer using your phone's biometric security feature, you can enable this later. 

    Set your Password 

    Your password must: 

    • Include at least one number 
    • Be 8 characters or longer

    Accept Terms and Conditions

    Next in your first-time login is accepting Terms and Conditions. By continuing past this point, you are agreeing that you have read, understood, and consent to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. You can read more about our policies on talech.com

    Enter device name 

    After accepting the Terms and Privacy Policy, enter a device name.

    Enable Tap to Pay on iPhone

    Note: This option only applies to iPhone users.  

    After entering a device name, you have the option to enable Tap to Pay on iPhone.   

    • Select Enable Now to sign in with your Apple ID and enable Tap to Pay on iPhone.   
    • Select Skip or enable later if you don’t want to enable Tap to Pay on iPhone or want to go through the enablement process later.   
    1. Select Enable Now.

    1. Select the Apple ID to use with Tap to Pay on iPhone.   
    • If you want to use the Apple ID that’s currently signed in, select Continue with this Apple ID.   
    • If you want to use a different Apple ID, select Use a different Apple ID and sign in with the username and password.

    1. If successful, a confirmation screen appears. Select Next to continue your first-time setup.

    Tap to Pay on iPhone unsuccessful activation.

     

    If Tap to Pay on iPhone did not successfully enable, select Next to continue with the first-time setup. You can enable Tap to Pay on iPhone later via Settings > Payments. See the article Accept contactless payments with Tap to Pay on iPhone and talech Mobile for complete instructions when ready.

    Connect a card reader 

    Next you have the option of connecting to a card reader.  

    • Click Connect to follow the prompts to connect your card reader now.  

      • For North America, you have the option of connecting a Link/2500 or Moby/5500. 
      • For Europe, you have the option of connecting a Datecs Bluepad-50.  
    • Click I don't have one to connect your card reader later.

    Complete Onboarding checklist 

    Now, you can simply follow the prompts through our onboarding checklist to help you get the most out of talech and get set up quickly. Depending on your business type, the checklist may vary from all the items shown here.

    General notes on the checklist 

    • Select the chevron to the right of the setting to expand and view a description.  
    • Select Continue to open the setting and choose a preference.

    • Select Skip all, I’m good! at the bottom to skip the onboarding checklist. If skipped each of the settings on the checklist can be found as follows:  
      • Landing View: Dashboard > Settings > Preferences.  
      • Default payment method: Dashboard > Settings > Payments.  
      • Adjust top options: Dashboard > Settings > Tips.  
      • Create an item: Dashboard > Menu > + button.  
      • Create a tax: Dashboard > Settings > Taxes.

    Select your landing view 

    1. Swipe through the previews of the available options. 
    • Keypad: Select to transact using the keypad to enter in customer amounts for each item in an order. 
    • Menu/Catalog: Select to transact by selecting items from your menu/catalog. 
    • Dashboard: Select if you frequently navigate between features.

    1. Once you’ve settled on one, select the Select button.  
    2. Review your selection and select Confirm.

    Set a default payment method 

    Note: talech Mobile Europe does not have signature settings or debit preferences.  

     

    1. Select a Default Payment Type.  
    2. Select a Debit Type.  
    3. Toggle Require Signature on if you’d like to require a signature for purchases. You can further customize to require signatures For All Purchases or For Purchases Over a specific amount.

    1. Select Done and continue to the next task.   

    Adjust tip options in checkout 

    1. Toggle tipping on or off.  
    2. To display suggested tips to your customers, toggle Display Suggested Tips on.  
    • Set the suggested tips at custom amounts in either $ or % and set a default value.

    1. Select Done and continue to the next task.   

    Create an item 

    1. Depending on what you selected for your landing view, the next screen will vary.  

    • If you selected the Menu or Dashboard as your landing view, you’ll be taken to the add item menu (skip ahead to step 2).  
    • If you selected the Keypad as your landing view, you’ll see a screen asking if you’d like to create a new item.  
      • Select Create an item to proceed with the create item menu.  
      • If you’d rather use the keypad for all your orders, select Skip, create an item.

    1. Type a Name for the item. 
    2. Enter an amount for Price.  
    3. Add a Category (if applicable at the time. You can always do this later too.) 
    4. Toggle a tax/VAT on (if applicable).  
    5. Select Save.

    Create another item or select Done and proceed to the next task.   

    Create a tax/VAT 

    Note: For North America, talech Mobile uses “tax.” For Europe, talech Mobile uses “VAT.” 

     

    1. Type a name for the tax/VAT.  
    2. Enter an amount for Tax Amount/VAT Amount.  
    3. Select Save.  

     

    Note: For talech Mobile Europe, Include VAT in Item Price is selected by default.

    1. You’ve completed all items in the checklist! select Return to Dashboard to start using talech Mobile.
