The services you offer your customers fulfill a specific need and therefore have specific set up requirements that differ from standard products sold in stores. This article will help you set up your service products on talech.com to ensure the best experience for your customers.
- Log in to talech.com and navigate to Items > Services.
- Click the New Service button.

- Name the service, assign a Category and put a Description (if needed).

- Set whether this service should be visible on your point-of-sale device so that it can be selected. If you turn this off, it won’t be available for checkout on your point-of-sale device.
- Click Add Variation Set to add any variations that you need (if applicable).

- Set the service type as a Fixed Time or Per Hour. This will determine how the price of this service is calculated – either a fixed amount or based on per hour rates.
- Fixed Time: Set the Service Duration and any Padding Time in the fields available for these two settings.

- Per Hour: Services that are priced per hour cannot be included in your online store. They will only be available from your point-of-sale.
- In the Pricing section, set the price details for the service. You can either enter a Cost and Markup % and the Price will automatically fill based on the calculation. Or just enter a price in the Cost field.

| Note: You can set this service cost as a variable by toggling Enable Variable Pricing on. This will allow you to enter an amount for the service upon checkout but then you cannot add this service to your online store. |
- In the last two sections, add any Tags and applicable Taxes to the service.
- When done, select Create Service.
