In the Register Back Office Settings you can configure the settings for tips on your talech register. Below are some FAQ’s regarding your tip settings.

How do I set a default tip setting? 

talech can be configured to automatically select a tip option at the signature screen when completing a sale. 
 
Please note: This will only be available when sign on device is selected for customer signature. 
 

  1. Navigate to Back Office > Settings > Signature and Tips. 
  2. Select Suggested Tip Amounts.

  1. You can select your preferred default tip amount here; this means that when you check out the customer and they sign on the device, there will be a default pre-selected.

Tip Type: Choose between a percentage or a specific dollar amount.

Suggested Tip Options: Change the default percentages or dollar amounts. Tap on the value and enter what you wish.

Default Tip Selection (only affects Sign on Device): This will dictate what is pre-selected on the signature screen.

Your customer will now see a default tip pre-selected!

How do I add a Tip Line 

  1. From the register, go to Dashboard > Back Office > Settings.  
  2. Make sure General is selected on the left > Scroll to the sub-section Receipt. 
  3. Turn on Show Tip Line on Credit Card Receipt. If the slider is blue, it is enabled.

Now the merchant/custom printed copies will have a tip line to sign on.

How do I withhold Tips? 

Here is how to withhold tips from the talech back office settings. 

  1. From the main Register, tap on Dashboard > Back Office > Settings. 
  2. Tap on Tips Withheld. 
  3. Enter the percentage rate based on your merchant fees, then tap on Done. 

The withheld transactions can be seen in the Time Sheet reports Employee Timesheet on talech Register.
